Although I thoroughly enjoyed (bonding moments for life!) seeing Mumford & Sons with some incredible friends– Jensyn Lynn Hallett at Bonnaroo, Gina MacBarband Melissa Freedenberg Meyers at Neil Young‘s Bridge School concert benefit, and Linna Nguyen at Oakland’s Not So Silent Night–there is something MAGICAL about seeing them back in the place where it all started: LONDON. Cheers to their headlining performance at London’s 2013 Summer Stampede.
I watched with wide eyes (and dropped jaw), thinking about thinking about where they were 3 years ago. Nuts. It’s crazy how your life can change in an instant. That’s why i was eager to chime in with my loud, ferocious pipes (and love-pump high and mighty) for the chorus of ‘Whispers in the Dark’:
“LET’S LIVE WHILE WE ARE YOUNG…”
….And, that’s EXACTLY how I’ve been recently trying to live my life (not going to be in my 20s forever!)…snatching every fleeting opportunity thrown at me. Laura Marling got it right when she said: “Truth I’ve hard about regret…it’s the hardest truth I’ve come to yet.”
The lineup: Bear’s Den, Haim, Ben Howard, Vampire Weekend, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Mumford & Sons
Many epic moments shared with new friends-Madelene Johansson, Linnea Sandberg (2 buddies from Sweden!), and Leanne Berry— one of them being my 6 seconds of EUPHORIA getting to SHAKE EDWARD SHARPE’S HAND (with eye locked, grinning). Unreal, just UNREAL. It still hasn’t all sunken in yet. Feels likes something short of a FAIRY TALE… 😀
