Only having just formed in 2011, this Manchester quintet (Embers) conjures up anthemic, cinematic “noise” that is reminiscent of the major leagues: Radiohead, Music, Sigur Ros, and Mew. Elements of post-rock, psychedelia, shoegaze create alluring landscapes, and the violin (the only female in the group) takes it to unexpected territory.
